BU Family!

Basketball season is upon us!

My name is Gavin Duerson and I am the new coach for BU boys’ basketball. Along with my Assistant Coach, Barrett Coffman, we could not be more excited to get this year’s team rolling. As you may know, we are now allowed to play public and private KHSAA schools thanks to the passing of a new law in Kentucky. This season, the Bluehawks will be competing against area public schools like Berea, Model, Sayre, Robertson Co., Washington Co., and yes, East and West Jessamine in official games for the first time in program history. Mark your calendars as the Bluehawks will play the West Jessamine Colts on Tuesday November 27th at West Jessamine High School. We hope to see the entire BU Community out for this inaugural game!

Also, another big night is coming up next week! Friday, October 19th is Flight Night! Flight Night is our version of Big Blue Madness and will feature intrasquad matchups for the middle school, junior varsity and varsity (boys’ and girls’) teams. The real buzz is about the alumni game where BU legends will return for one night to relive their glory days! If you played basketball for BU, we hope you can participate! Flight Night is Friday, October 19 at the Genesis Center on Georgetown Road. Come out and bring your whole family and make it a night! Chili will be provided! Admission will be $5 (adult) and $3 (child) with a family max of $15.
